ROJ in the Media

ROJ in the Media!

In July of 2009 I was the "Blog of the week" for my favorite Podcast, Phedippidations. I did not apply for this, and in fact did not even know I was going to be featured. One day while running and listening, I just started to hear the host talk about my page! One of the coolest feelings and moments. At this time I was blogging under the title "There are no downsides in ROJ".

Episode 195: The Bunion Derby

In the spring of 2010 I was awarded a sponsorship with Marathon Bars. As a member of the team I was asked to wear their logo clothing to all my practices and whenever I could when racing. Occasionally I would submit a race report with photos from the event. Also, I was sent samples of the delicious and amazing energy and protein bars  I spoke about and handed out products whenever I could and still use today when I buy them. Honestly I love and support this product and I loved and supported how they chose the "common" athlete, not just the elite age grouper.  After all, there's more common folk than famous, right?

Update: I was chosen for the team a second year in a row as of May 2011. In 2011 they did not create a special page to feature their athletes. Traffic should be directed to the main webpage for the product, Marathon Bars.

I was personally featured, with my running as a highlight in the Akron 151 Toastmasters' newsletter. If you have a moment, read it. Melissa did a lovely job of editing and adding quotes and pictures. If you follow this link, look along the left for "public downloads" and then for the PDF of Feb 2011.

In May of 2011 I had a guest post over at acehealth.org the Diet, Nutrition and Wellness Journal. I wrote about my experience with New Balance Minimalist shoes and how I found they are connected to reflexology.

The Surprise Comfort of Minimalist Running

On June 1, 2011 (National Running Day) I was the featured blogger for Fitblogger! You may recall this is the site which also published my race report from the Shamrock 5K this same year.

In July 2011, I was quoted in Women's Running Magazine. On page 29 of the July/August 2011 issue, in the story "Let Me Count the Ways..." The magazine is so great, since I couldn't find a copy at any local store or library and even though my subscription lapsed, they sent me a copy!

In Nov of 2011 I was accepted as a FitFluential Ambassador.

February of 2012, on VALENTINE'S DAY of all days, I was an editors' picks for Bloggers.com
